Pharmacists are conspicuously absent from treatment groups for cancer survivors. Even the Institute of Medication leaves out pharmacists in its set of health care professionals who can play a role in survivorship care. But Daniel Zlott, PharmD, of the National Tumor Institute, told Pharmacy Moments that because pharmacists are medicine experts, they could improve a malignancy survivor&rsquo greatly; s situation if they were integrated into survivorship plans .

Cancer cells in bloodstream can identify risk of recurrence in breast cancer Cancer tumor cells circulating in the blood, or circulating tumour cells , are known to be associated with a bad prognosis in ladies with metastatic breast cancers. Now, for the first time, a group of scientists have shown that they can also detect CTCs before and after chemotherapy treatment and hence might be able to determine those patients more likely to have a recurrence of their tumor after such treatment in potential. Dr. The team, led by Dr. Brigitte Rack, also from Munich, set out to consider the role of CTCs in bloodstream at the first analysis of breast cancers and during adjuvant chemotherapy and endocrine treatment.
