Mo' Mojo Mama/Zydeco Jones

Formed in 1996, under the name of Zydeco Jones, Mo’ Mojo Mama is led by co-accordionists, Jen Maurer and Bob Corlett. Rod Lubline on drums, Doug McKean on bass, and Joe Smith on guitar form the grooviest and most high powered rhythm section around. Vocals are shared by the band members. Mo’ Mojo Mama covers a lot of ground in the genre. Their show includes staple hits from zydeco kings such as Clifton Chenier, Boozoo Chavis, and Beau Jacques; the new zydeco funk sounds of Chris and Sean Ardoin, and Keith Frank; zydeco versions of songs by Led Zepplin, Ben Harper, and Blues Traveler; and their own originals. They also specialize in Mardi Gras and other New Orleans music, covering all the standards. The Mo’ Mojo Mama Band is making quite a scene all over Northeast Ohio.

When first asked to perform "Hello Cleveland" for this project, the band thought it might not adapt well to Zydeco. But once they got started on it, they proved that they know what they're doing when it comes to kickin' it up.
